ooh thats cool and creepy
how big is this spider
That's gorgeous! I gotta fave this! That's a male Aphopelma chalcodes, my favorite species. I've got four females here, and I love 'em!

Thanks for the fave pitbulllady. you seem to know your stuff. i just love spiders, i think they are beautiful. As for the size, the locals told me it was a small one but i would say it's body was about 3 inches long and with the legs spread out about 6 inches in circumference. just an estimate, but it was big to me. and so docile, i let it walk right up to me (on a brick wall) and i petted one of it's legs just to say i did. fun fun.
I was hoping to use this for a little project of mine. I am making a Linux distribution whose mascot is a tarantula. I need a background for the desktop. If you do not mind... I would like to use this photo. If you object just let me know.

PS: I would put a notice on the welcome.html which opens automatically on boot.
Go ahead, i am honored that you would like to use it. If possible i would like to see a screen shot of the desktop once you have finished.
There is still quite a bit to do, but I will most certainly post a screenshot as a deviation and leave a note for you.
I am starting to remember why I don't live in Arizona....
